Sven Haakanson, Jr. (born 1967 Old Harbor, Alaska) is an American anthropologist, and the Executive Director of the Alutiiq Museum in Kodiak, Alaska. [1][2] He graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, with a bachelor's in English in 1992, and from Harvard University with a Ph.D. in Anthropology. [3] Since 2002, he serves on the Alaska Native Science Commission.[4] He appears in the film Grizzly Man.[5]
He is married to Balika; they have a daughter, Eilide.[6]
